EQUS Annual Workshop

Registrations for the EQUS Annual Workshop are now open.

When: The EQUS Annual Workshop will run 5–7 December, as both an in-person and virtual event. 

Where: The in-person event will be held at Rydges, Newcastle, NSW(link is external)

Please check your email for a link to the eventbrite registration or contact Angie Bird (a.bird1@uq.edu.au(link sends e-mail)) if you have not received one.

Getting to and from Rydges, Newcastle: Airport transfers from Sydney and Newcastle airport will be available depending on the day/time you are travelling. Please indicate your preferences when registering. 

Schedule: The schedule is as follows (please note these times are subject to change): 

Day 1: 9am - 5:30pm AEDT
Day 2: 9am - 5:30pm AEDT with EQUS Awards Dinner 7.30pm – 10.30pm
Day 3: 9am - 2pm AEDT

Due to the limited number of in-person places it is expected that those registered attend the full 2.5 days of the workshop.  Similarly, virtual attendees will not be able to attend any part of the workshop in-person due to capacity restrictions.

If attendees are unwell or have any COVID-19 symptoms such as a cough or fever in the days leading up to the workshop, then we ask that you advise us via an email to engage@equs.org(link sends e-mail) and do not attend the event. Similarly, if attendees become unwell or have any COVID-19 symptoms during the event such as a cough or fever during the event, then we ask that you advise a member of the operations team at your venue and leave the venue as soon as possible.

Our Centre code of conduct is available here. Carer’s support will be available for EQUS members. Please contact Angela Bird (a.bird1@uq.edu.au(link sends e-mail)) to discuss further if you have not already indicated this on your eventbrite registration form.

Program: A program outline will be available here shortly. 

Monday night social event: A social event will be held on Monday evening at The Lucky Hotel Newcastle(link is external). Food and one drink will be covered by EQUS but attendees will need to purchase any additional drinks. Please indicate if you would like to attend when registering.

Competitions

There are three ways in which EQUS Research Fellows and Students you can showcase your research to the rest of the Centre during the EQUS Annual Workshop. A Poster, 3MT or Pitch.  Please ensure you register your participation in one of these competitions when completing your Eventbrite registration form.
