This seminar will briefly describe the innovation process, the place of translational research versus commercialisation, and look at deciding if your research is ready for translation.

We’ll then examine how industry and small to medium enterprises look at and adopt new technologies including:

• Touring the main business functions that you might encounter related to innovation and R&D

• Examples of how businesses plan out their technology adoption roadmaps

• A sample pathway for building an industry partner relationship

• Presentation strategies for pitching a project to industry
